Du's work draws on the themes of time, self, desire and reality. Influenced by theorist Franco Berardi, Du examines today's distortion of time as the results of rapid progress and information overload. The paintings are a fusion of sensuality and spartan elements. The meticulous combination of static and provocative, morph into a deeper investigation of the Aesthetic and mortality.
Jingze Du was born in Yantai, China in 1995. At the age of thirteen he moved to Ireland with his family. He graduated with a BA in Fine Art from NCAD, Dublin in 2017. He is currently studying a Masters degree in Fine Art Painting in the Royal College of Art, London.
